I tried hooking up my air/fuel gauge to the radio power wire. Didn't work, and now neither does the radio. Fuse is in. Wire's still there. Wtf?

basically the question is... what do i check? I know it has something to do with that wire, and i know the problem must be within 5 inches of the fusebox.

Power is still getting to the fuse, but it doesn't make it to the radio

Check the other fuses - most of the time, the constant 12V feed to the radio is on another circuit. If either fuse is blown, radio no workie. Usually it's on the dome light circuit.

Thanks. I tried something different though. I removed the radio (junkyard infinity unit) and installed the factory radio, and the factory radio works.... So it looks like i fried the radio. I have no clue.

I'll try that fuse though. Couldn't hurt.

A lot of aftermarket radios have a fuse in the back, does a factory unit?

I never thought to check for a reset button. But it's all good. swapped a fuse. gotta love how so many components can work on a fuse that has nothing to do with them.
