Hey everyone hows it going? I am fixing up my daytona and i wanted to switch over from manual windows to power windows. I figured once i pulled the door panels off i would find the connectors for the motor and switches taped up somewhere but that wasnt the case(unless i missed them). So i was wondering if anyone knows 1.if the wires are there somewhere on a manual window vehicle but just tucked away somewhere that i cant find them
and 2. if the wires are not there what all would i have to do to switch over to power windows. I have the doors from a 89 daytona that had power windows and i beleive everything from those should swap fairly easily into the 91's doors, im just not to sure on the wiring.

Thanks for your time and have a good day,

Brian

ok now that anyone can help. If the circuit breaker spot in the fuse panel does NOT have the pins in it I doubt any wiring is in the car. The circuit is straght forward and easy if you want to wire it up. Does the 91 have the switches on the door like my 92? where is the switch location of the donor car? We can start there.

I beleive the pins are there(the fuse is there, and it looks like a single tan wire runs out from behind the fuse.)I will check when i get back home. The switch is located on the doors in the 91 and they are in the center console in the 89.

Thanks,

Brian

well I read the thread pulled up the diagram then saw he was looking for you what can I say.
door switches are a little more work but not bad. You need to pull 4 wires into the drivers door and 3 into the passenger door. 2 that you pull into the drivers door are a 12v+ and the other a 12v-. the other 2 go from the drivers door into the passenger door and the 3rd into the passenger door is also the 12v+.

When you are ready to do it let us know and we can post a diagram. The mitchell diagram is nice and clean looking and easy to follow. I don't know if the mopar one is easy to view. Jan?

Sounds good, i really appreciate it! :). I think the biggest headache will be trying to find the power window switches. But will i also need the connector that they plug into?

Thanks,
Brian

the plugs for the switches would be needed because if I remember right the switches use pins to hook to the plugs. Also the color codes would help wiring it up. So what you need to gather to do it are the switches and plugs a place on the car to tap for power a breaker for the circuit and wire in a heavy enough gauge to run the circuit. mitchells diagram does not show wire gauge in it maybe NAJ's mopar one will. My diagram just shows it uses a 30 amp breaker.

I would be getting diagrams from Mitchell or Alldata.
Do not know about the 91 you have but my 90 even though they are seperate switches has seat controls in the same bezel as the power windows in the door.
BTW.... I hate Mopars wiring schematics.

I called a chrysler dealer today had them do a parts reference for me on the switches. According to them any chrysler, dodge, or plymouth mini-van from 91-93 has the same switches as a daytona. There is a ton of these at my local you pick it so i am going to go there tomorrow or friday. I figure it will make things a lot easier if i pull the wiring in whole instead of just cutting the wires about 6" from the connector. Yeah, there is a spot on the trim peice where the seat controls can go on my 91 too. There is also a 90 daytona cs up there too so hopefully it will have rear disc so i can get the e-brake shoes. I checked the fuse panel today and the pins are there for the windows. The tan wire that runs out of the back goes to a connector on the drivers side kick panel.

The switch might be the same but the bezel it pops into should be differant.

Went to the yard today and pulled the switches and wiring from a 91 caravan. I believe i got everything i need, not to sure because there is only one plug(other than for the switches and window motor). It has a tan wire and a black wire running to it.(Then again that could be for the pos and neg to power the windows) I am hoping to get a lot of the body work done this weekend so that way i can get ready to do the windows.
