I'm not familiar with the modern '90+ TD's ;) BUT yur prolly in luck

cheap MaMopar has a simple 1-speed fan, and uses a bank of heavy duty resistors to waste amperage whn yu ask for medium or low speeds

these resistors burn out one by one, so yu lose one speed at a time

on my ShelDak its mounted pass side firewall, by A/C passthru ; ~6 wire connector
resistor bank pops out with 2 screws

the resister is always in the air stream of the blower motor so it can cool it. so it is near the blower but with the way they do the heater box some cars it is inside and others are under the hood. daytona it is inside above the blower mini van it is under the hood dakotas under the hood.

ok, i didn't see anything under the hood, so i'll go digging into the blower box to see if i can find them. anyone have a clue as to what sort of resister i'd need? resistance and wattage?

Your resistor is under the cowl behind the washer bottle.

Blower motor resistors are common on all vehicles for failure.
The control unit controls the ground side of the resistor and power is constant at the resistor.
The control head changes which terminal the current will flow when you change speeds by connecting/disconnecting a ground.
For low speed the current flows thru all of the resistors which lowers current flow thus giving you low speed.
High speed bypasses all resistors and is staright from the resistor input to the blower motor.
The blower resistor is not servicable and replaced as a complete unit.

i had a similar problem on mine- i pulled out the resistor bank and could see all the solder joints were bad- reflowed them with fresh solder and it worked perfectly again.
