you know what? just for laughs, i tried to open mine and ended up cracking the case...it does open the way i said, but I would try heating it with a hair dryer first, so you don't break the plastic...

You need a small knife to cut around the whole jelly thing, then you can take it out. Don't touch the capacity side of it. You want to clean off ALL jelly from the solder side, then resolder everything.

It'll take you about 2 hrs.

It does'nt really matter if you break the case, duct tape will work fine.

I just had to reflow the exsisting solder joints, no solder needed. Electrical tape also works on the case. I wonder if that unit was made in England?

yes there is a headlight module on top the dash in the center, i had the same thing happen to my lights, i changed it twice in 2 years, the last time it still did not fix the doors.
i was looking at the headlite switch and SAW A REISTOR in it my other dodges dont have.......... i swap out the switch with one front another 88 daytona from a bone yard to try, and it sure fix it. looking at my old switch the reistor was cooked, hope this helps
