okay if you are checking out this thread you may have an idea about what serial bus + and serial bus - wires are. I am intergrating two harnesses, my 88 turbo engine harness onto my 90 lighting and bulkhead disconnect. Serial Bus + is a 20g violet w/ brown tracer, and Serial Bus - is 20g white w/ black tracer. They were the only wires twisted around each other in the whole 90 harness, and ran straight to the computer.

Does anyone know what information travels via these wires. It does not appear that the 88 computer has serial bus + - connections. Do i need to connect them to something, or can i just leave them???

thanks
ryan

edit
okay with my diagrams i have traced the wires to the 'trip navitagor'. SO i guess my question is what is the trip navigator? Is it a navigation gauge with temperature and a compass??? because if that what it is then i don't have one and therefore i can leave those two wires disconnected.

thanks again

Trip navigator is a computerized odometer/mpg/eta etc. unit. Not at all necessary for driving, but more of a toy.

These are the two wires used for the CCD Bus. These wires run between the PCM and the airbag module and are how all the other modules in the car comunicate with each other. Since your '88 does not have an airbag they are not needed. If you were wanting to run a Traveler computer they would get tied into that. If your car was an Electronic auto transaxle they would run to that. Some of the later G and J bodys had BCM that also received information from the CCD Bus. They are simply two wires you will not need.
