Hi everyone! '88 daytona shelby here. I have a problem with the heater not blowing air recently. It doesn't happen ALL the time, just some of the time (sometimes I turn the car off & when I restart it later it will work) & mainly when it's pretty cold out. It's not fun driving home in -25 without any heat!

Do you think it's a loose electrical wire? Or could it have some moisture buildup and when it's cold, it freezes? Maybe the heater motor just isn't working?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

It sounds like you are experiencing problems with the motor or wiring. You do get hot air when it does work, right?

Dig around and see if you have any bad connections around the blower motor or see if you can find a known good one to swap in there.

Sounds like you've got the idea on possibilities of what could be wrong. Now go get in there and find out!

Yeah I do have heat when it works. That's what I was thinking... probably the wiring. I'll get in there this weekend when I have the use of a garage so I can check it out.

Thanks for the tips!

I was having the same problem with my '88 Daytona Pacifica. The heater fan would work sometimes, but more often it wouldn't. Turned out to be a loose connection in the blower wiring under the dash on the passenger side. I found the bad connection by simply wiggling the wires, shoved the connector all the way together, and haven't had a problem with it since.

Are you talking heater fan or actual heat, your story is a little confusing?
