I had a minor short in the light cluster of my 92 Daytona and now the turn signals won't cancel after I make a turn. I have replaced the turn signal/low high beam switch a couple of times with other used switches twice but still no cancel. Any help?

IIRC, the late Daytona does not have a mechanical cancel. The cluster that houses the light switches, etc drive the relays that drive the lights directly. There is a switch in the steering column that should tell the cluster to cancel. Either the cluster is not getting a signal from the switch, or the some damage to the cluster occured. You'll have to look at your wiring diagrams. I can't remember off the top of my head.

I have the factory manuals and the wiring diagram for this area of the car and unfortunately they stink. They do not give enough direction/description in the drawings to track anything down. They show the turn signal cancellation/ hazard warning connector but that is where it stops. They do not provide a location designator or any other callout for where this circuit comes from or goes.

There are 2 circuit cards in the instrument cluster for the lights. I burnt a trace on the circuit board that the main connector connects to the wiring harness. So I replaced that circuit board but now I am wondering if the other circuit board with the switches on it has a problem also.

Yes, I really hate the 91 FSMs I got recently. The diagrams are full of typos, errors, wrong sheet numbers, and missing info. Sometimes if you look for the connector diagram towards the end of the body section (with just the connector, no wires) they give you a few more bites of info in the circuit description that may be enough to get a clue.

I like the old diagrams better, but then again the electronics were far simpler.

I'm not good at electrical diagrams, but here is a copy of "Mitchell" diagrams for the 92 Daytona. Not sure if it covers the turn signal or just the engine electronics.

I just looked at my 91 FSM. You're right, they give you nothing to work with. On close inspection, it seems that the flasher module handles everything, not the console itself. I would guess it is one of those two wires between the switch and the flasher module (L59 or L91). I bet it's just a self-latching relay and the switch interrupts it.
