K, I've finally gotten tired of trying to get the stock tach fixed and went ahead and got a 5" Autometer tach, model 233905. Do I hook the tach signal connection directly to the output from the computer? It's a 93 3.0 Duster.

run the green wire threw the firewall, hook the green wire to the negative side of the coil.

How do you tell the negative side of the coil?

The negative side is the one that is half empty. (-)The positive side is the one half full. (+)

all coils have a neg and pos. you'll see the neg and pos on the top of the coil.
