bought it for a donor for 4 cylinder turbo, but do not want to transfer if wiper switch is problem, has cruise control also.

Probably the motor or the wiper delay controller. Possibly the switch. The intermittent mode uses the low speed on the motor.

check wiring in the column

I believe AA bodies often had this problem as well. I think the was a TSB issued about moving the wiring around in the column to prevent wires from getting pinched/broken.

My Spirit R/T had this problem at some point. I think the previous owner just ran a wire external of the column from the switch through the firewall and up to the wiper motor. I never got around to tracking dow the wire break in the harness and repairing it.
