WOW!!! YOu guys are awesome. I had the wiper problem with the 85 Shelby Charger I am restoring. I went out just now and ran a ground to the wiper motor body, VIOLA! It worked. I then started loosening mounting screws to see which one would do the deed. It was the lower left mounting bolt ( as viewed from the front of the car). Yay, Problem solved, Thanks a bunch, jeff1234

That is just a temperary fix. Look at the bolt you turned to get it to work. It should have a thin strap going from the stud to the plate the motor mounts to. It is held on to the plate with a rivit. That is where the connection goes bad. Loosing the nut and tighten it again shifts the strap and gets it working again but it will fail again. To fix it once and for all run a wire from the plate to the firewall. I have used self drill screws in both the plate and firewall to hook up the wire just use short ones. Or drill small holes to run sheet metal screws in.

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread. I thought I had a bad wiper motor, but when I replaced it the new one didn't work. I found this thread, and hooked up a grounding wire. Now the wipers work again. Thanks.
