I just installed my new 1 1/4 inch end link style front sway bar. All I can say is WOW.!!!! For anyone that thinks the factory sway bar does a good job, It can't hold a candle to this bar. my car has never cornered this flat.

Does you car have the cast or stamped front control arms? (just noticed the all original control arm comment, but of course is the vehicle in question an 88 CSX-T guessing from your username?)

If Johnny is checking this thread, can you run an endlink style swaybar with the cast arms, or is it not safe to drill the cast arms?

If not, did the minivans or another vehicle circa 89/90 come with re-enforced stamped steel arms, similar to the way the ~86-88 minivans came with the same control arms (rear stub strut) as the FWD cars, but with additional bracing?

I guess question is would one be better off running stamped arms with an endlink style bar, or a standard bar on the cast arms?

Johnny makes a bar for the cast arms. I have never seen it on a cast arm car though. My car is a 87 ShelbyZ with 90 front suspension/Koni's/Eibachs so it sits lower than stock and his stamped bar hit my control arms with just the weight of the car on the suspension enough that I couldn't bolt up the bar. Although with a stock suspension I would think if you hit a good size bump that the stamped arm bar would still wack the control arms pretty good.

I have one of his cast arm bars as him and I tried it after his stamped arm bars hit my control arms. Unfortunately with the length of the end links we ran to get it to clear the a-arms it hit the wheel and TIRE! Scary when it could of ripped through the sidewall on my 6 hour drive home at 75+. It's for sale if you want it. Just PM me. It's brand new with the forged rather than welded ends and was only used for about 5 hrs Drive time home

The reason the car feels better is because of the end links. It allows the bar to function like it should, i.e. it moves and doesn't bind. I shortened my factory bar, added heim joints for the end links instead of bushings and bolted it right back in place. Shortening it stiffened it up and it has NO bind at all when it moves. Major improvement. Car corners flat and I've increased cornering speeds by 20 MPH on some of the on ramps I take regularly. Having the bar move is where the performance comes from.

I have cast arms on my 1986 Plymouth wagon (94 spirit suspension) and I use a endlink sway bar with no issues.
