I called them. They don't carry a SFI flexplate for the 2.2/2.5 anymore. They told me that 179.00 is for the 2.0/2.4 motors. I would of been all over one for that price.

Ok I finally got around to bolting both pieces up to a spare 89 CB 2.2 motor I have. There are no clearance issures. The back spacing toward the block are the same. The SFI flexplate doesn't have that hump around the outer edge like the stock flexplate. There is also no issue with over all length. That is I mounted the stock flexplate with TQ and measured back to the block and then did the same with the SFI flexplate. So if anybody is interested I got my SFI flexplate from reactor product in Ca. This flexplate is made for the later 2.2/2.5 8 bolt crank motors. When I had them make mine they didn't have a source for ring gears so you may have to send them a stock flexplate to use the ring gear. They just cut mine off and rewelded to new flexplate. I have pictures of the flexplate but don't know how to post them. If anybody wants to link them to this post let me know and I can e-mail them to you. As for price you need to call them. Mine was done as a one off prototype so the next ones maybe cheaper. I had it built not for passing tech but piece of mind. I have way too much money in my setup to have a stock flexplate let go and wipe out motor/trans. The tech passing would just be a plus.

Wayne if you send the pics to me by email at abkshelby@aol.com I can put them up here. Guys I have seen this flexplate in person and it is very high quality for a reasonable price.

About the ring gears you can contact Fidanza and see if they will sell you one. The ring rears on their flywheels are just bolted on.

It's aluminum. I have one in my Challenger. Reactor Products makes a fine part but wait until you need to have it recert'd. I waited 3 months for mine.....

(I should let Wayne answer but wanted to let folks know about the recert's. I'm not the only one either as there are a few threads on the web about it also.)

Steve told me before hand that they were slow to get his Challenger one recert. But I called almost every company that makes SFI flexplates and they were the only one that would make me just ONE. Most companys wouldn't even talk to me if I wasn't going to order 50 or 100 of them. I just don't have that type of money laying around. It took them about two weeks to build mine from scrach. I didn't think that was bad at all. I guess when I need mine recert. I will do it over the winter when the tracks are closed.

I think I'll have to look into one for the Challenger and the Rampage. Was there a weight savings with the challenger plate? The other HD flex plates add some weight, 4 times more than stock,,,,,,, which says how scary stock is lol.

My Challenger no longer uses a standard flexplate (I'm compensating for a 1/2" thick midplate plus it has a ring gear on it. Long story...). They offer a standard FP (BB and SB) and should have the weight for you.

Wayne, 2 weeks is great! I'm going to order one up also.

This one doesn't add any weight. Just went and checked.
