What Vendors if any do custom calibrations for specific needs? Here is a copy of the email I sent one vendor:

I have been building a race project for my 92 RT but The enging management I want to use is a bit out of my range for the time being. I wanted to know if you were able to custom calibrate my computer or if there were other options. Here is my situation: I have a fully built 2.2 stroked ot a 2.4 and bored out .020 the head is ported and has very good flow, I have a header from Wallace and a GT 37/67 turbo able to push 700hp @ 22psi. I have a custom Intake with a 60mm Ford throttle body with a very nice intercooler as well. My trouble areas are as follows: I want to run it as an automatic which I have Custom built from Darryl Cox but it doesn't have the provision for the Crank sensor. The ford throttle body has different TPS and IAC signals I know of a conversion for the IAC to a GM style which I beleive is more like the Mopar. So My questions are: Do you have a crank trigger set up for the under drive pulley and if so can it be adapted for use with the factory computer? Is the throttle body issue a concern or can we make it work with one of your calibrations?

If I am unable to do the above mods with a factory style calibration then I will gut put one of my stock RT motors in wit minor mods and the 5 Speed trans. But I will need a clutch! and I will save the race set up for an Omni like I already planed. I would love to drive the built set up for fear of not knowing how long it might sit before I get all of the components together needed for my omni build. thanks for listening to my rant and I hope there is something that we can come up with

Why wouldn't you go with a aftermarket stand alone. That way YOU could fine tune it. With a setup like your it's going to be hard for a vendor to make a computer perfect without alot of shipping back and forth to get it right. You may end up spending more than what a stand alone cost. You can sometimes pickup a SDS or other system on e-bay pretty cheap. I have a setup close to yours and with the trail and error with different parts I didn't want to have to keep sending the computer back everytime I changed a few parts. I went with the SDS. I also didn't want to hassle with the crank sensor.

Times are hard at the present time, and I wanted to see if there was anything I could use in the mean time while I save for Big Stuff Gen 3. I am not looking to get max performance out of the calibration just make it by with one. Mostly for shows and just taking it out for a drive on Sundays, I just don't want the motor sitting for the time it might take me to get the Big Stuff system. I have an awesome Auto trans and would love to use it but if just to get the motor running I need to use the 5 speed I will.

For the TB I'd get one for a 4.7 dakota. That's what I'm using on my hybrid. Uses the same signals as the TD stuff. I ended up getting a TPS from a jeep because it had the correct plug end and spun in the correct direction. Used the AIS from the stock TB. This may require you to put a different mounting plate on your intake but over all would be easier to get everything to work correctly over the ford piece. For the crank sensor I have no idea. Give eyeball a PM on this forum. he had a auto behind the TIII in his shadow. He may still have tth custom pieces to convert for sale.

I dont know the pricing of the Big Stuff, but SDS is pretty affordable as stand alone comes(1100-1500). I tried the 5 speed way also and the clutch wouldnt hold 20 psi, heck even 9 psi past 4000 rpm.. Youd have to get a custom clutch like a dual disk but your looking big $$ that way. Id get a SDS and run your auto before I did a clutch again. Also with the SDS you can just hook up the TPS, its all pretty straight forward.

I am going to get the BigStuff system but until then I wanted something to pretty much plug and play! It might take another year before I have all of the goodies I want for a race T-III omni, so for now I would like to get it running so it doesn't sit that long and that will allow me to get all of the little odds and ends stuff done that pops up when you do a build like this (your always missing something or forgot about something, ect. that sets you back). So for the time being I would like to just get a factory type calibration.

Chuck,
One of our stage 3 or 4's would work just fine for the time being with your set-up although if you really want to "pump it up" the stand alone is more suitable to an all out race application. If you want something to just get you by for a while then again get one of our cals. Then once you get enough money for the SDS, you can always resell your FWD cal. The t-3 cals seem to bring some decent money used, so in the end you won't be out much and you can start enjoying your car now. As far as the auto goes, just leave in the 5 speed for now and do the auto change over when you do the SDS, or you could modify the system to use the auto, as this has been done by a couple of people already.

Later,
Cindy

No, we are out of 90/90 2.5 cores, and they do come in here and there. I already have 3 people waiting, so if you want one, get on my list! and we will call you when a core for you becomes available.
Thanks,
Cindy
