Thursday June 5th I placed an order for a Walbro 255 fuel pump and a TIII clutch. I ordered from TU rather than FWD Performance because I figured shipping from Arizona would be faster than from Texas.
Shipping was an INSANE $42. Whatever, I accepted the charges, it's not like it was asking me if I wanted to haggle over the shipping price.
Anyways, the fuel pump arrived on Monday. Nice and quick, like I'd expect coming from Arizona. But the clutch.. They decided to just have it shipped from their supplier. Apparently they don't keep stock clutches in stock. I called Chris on Monday when the pump arrived and the clutch didn't. That's when I found out that not only was the clutch not shipped from Arizona, it was shipped UPS Ground (world's slowest shipping) from the EAST COAST.. The next day I shot him an email and asked for a tracking number. No reply so the day after I sent a reminder email. Got a reply saying he was "working on it".. Two days later, no more replies. He also won't answer my phone calls anymore. For all I can tell, the clutch hasn't even shipped yet. UPS doesn't deliver Saturday, so this weekend is a complete wash for finishing up my van, unless I go to the local parts store and buy a crappy one.
I've filed a dispute with paypal. I'm sooooo pissed at this point.
So..fair warning if you plan to buy a clutch..

Sucks to hear that!!!!!

I use all my local contacts to get my parts based on this and other experiences I see on the boards - plus I can get what I need right there or next day no fees. Any customs I ask my machine shop to do work for me for some $$$ or beer.

Plus the favorites games get played I believe.

Good luck getting the money or the clutch.

The least these guys can do is give the buyer a heads up on when and where the items will ship from and not assume everyone is ok with what they choose and information they pass along. You should know where assuming gets you.

Sorry to say guys that the economy is taking a shit and shitty service results is less customers - proven fact.

Yeah.. Thanks. I agree, it would have been sooo much better to ask me before assuming it was ok to toss my order off to some 3rd party. I imagine the reason Chris has been so ellusive is because the clutch hadn't even shipped yet.
The good news is I found a Sachs brand clutch at a local auto parts store. So in theory, it should be the same TIII clutch the dealer used to sell. Going to have to spend some money I really didn't want to spend, to buy it, but I'll get the money back from PayPal soon enough. Whenever that clutch does arrive from TU, I'll just refuse shipment.

I dont think any of the vendors stock clutch parts. That wouldnt really make any sense.

TU's shipping prices are messed up because the UPS calculator doesnt work right now. You would just have to make sure the difference in actual shipping cost was refunded to you.

I had to cancel an order with TU recently so I know what this is all about. I didnt make a big fuss on paypal though, I just asked for my money back and I got it.
I dont understand why you had to be so pushy about it. If you dont think its going to come, just cancel your order before you get too mad for someone to want to pick up the phone.

Now I am just hoping that my horsepowerparts fidanza friction plate is in the mail like they claim. 55 bucks shipped was an amazing deal.

TU is not the only one. Fwd Performance had my clutch shipped from Jacksonville Fla to Texas where they slapped another shipping label on it and sent it to me here in Ga. Jacksonville is 3 hours away from me. Not complaining but lesson learned. I will call and see if it is on the shelf if I am in a hurry. Performance parts tend to take awhile.

too bad TU is no longer an authorized TD vendor so Chris will never see this or respond here most likely
