Larry Buford came by the shop for some dyno tuning time. If you are not familiar with his car, he has created a rear wheel drive Sundance with ingenious creativity and attention to detail. This is one solid car and I love the setup. He runs a 2.5l bottom end with a Neon 2.0 16v head and a Holset turbo. We baselined his car at 315hp (15psi). In the course of a couple of hours we tweaked the calibration and ended up at 420hp (19psi). We could have gone further but Larry needed to drive the car back home 14 hours so I left it with some room to hit his 25psi goal; All in all a good day on the dyno for Larry and anyone else looking at a 2.5l hybrid with an FWD calibration.

Wow, as impressive as 100+ WHP on top is, I'm really liking that you were able to get him 50 or so presumably off boost at 2K RPMS. That's gotta make that car waaay more fun to drive around town

so did you learn anything new about the hybrid cals that will be used in other hybrid apps or was this custom for his car?
the reason i ask is that i would be more than happy to send you my cal and pay for a retune if i'll gain even 50 hp.

Just wanted to say thanks again to James and Cindy (FWD Performance) for the hospitality, I had a great time. Of course dyno runs are always fun if nothing breaks . Although I did wimp out and didn't run it to 7000 rpm or 25psi like I originally planned. Maybe at the track tonight??

All runs were done with 100 octane fuel. Base fuel pressure was set at 45psi

Fireblade:
I am running Siemens (Deka) 55's which are rated at 57 lb at 43.5psi . I bought them a couple of years ago thinking they were close enough to the +40% mopar injectors that I would be able adjust fuel pressure and get them running ok without having to re-calibrate the computer. Didn't work.

Holy Crap, I need a change of pants. That is the baddest thing I've seen in a while. Can I get pictures of that so I can track down the original chrysler engineers and club them while showing them what they should have done in the first place? Now that everyone has eleventeenhundred questions on how you did that you better fess up

Larry dude you need to take pictures of everything on that car and start a thread with all the details of how you built that. It looks awesome. Don't forget to list what trans and rear you used.

Like this,

A few pics. of my RWD conversion parts

Sounds like it's doing pretty well for you then Lary, I may need a little something something similar for my car. I still need to pull the trans one of these days and get a LSD installed. Just need to pick up the parts to put the OBX in my 568, Will need a clutch then too. So many projects, so little time
