1985 Chrysler LeBaron Turbo Convertible Mark Cross $500 (MD)

I have a 1985 Chrysler LeBaron Turbo Convertible, Mark Cross edition for sale.

The good:
  • Low original miles (less than 70K)
  • No rust

The bad:
  • Blown head gasket (water in oil)
  • Torn top
  • Cracked windshield
  • Drivers seat broken (not sure if it's the track or the seat itself)

I intended to repower this car, but I have not had time and I am going to put my only spare engine into my GLHS to save the original. The car has been sitting for a couple of years and last winter some ice slid of the roof of my garage and tore the top and cracked the windshield.

The car is black/black with the wood-grain sides. The paint is fading, but the body is very solid. The engine compartment is clean. The interior needs a good cleaning.

Pics to follow.

Located in Jarrettsville, MD. Clear MD title. I can deliver this within about 50 miles for $2.50 per loaded mile or you can come pick it up at my place.

Re: 1985 Chrysler LeBaron Turbo Convertible Mark Cross $500 (MD)

Forgot to add that this car also appears to have a heavy duty alternator? Not sure if it was a special option or what, but it doesn't look standard to me.

It has had a tarp over it since the top was ripped, but some water got in at some point and caused the slight mildewing on the seats.

I understand that shipping is pricey, but I can't do it. Thanks.

Cool car man, if I were closer I would have a hard time not grabbing this thing!

What does the "Mark Cross" edition add to the car? I'm not that familiar with lebarons, especially the earlier ones.

Mark Cross was leather and had an embossed console lid

Re: 1985 Chrysler LeBaron Turbo Convertible Mark Cross $500 (MD)

Other than the leather and embossed arm rest as mentioned, there are little emblems on the door panels, too, but I'm not sure there's anything else to it. My friend's parents were actually the original owners of the car and ordered it the way it is.

Nice car....much like what I have, although mine's in cream on the exterior.

Mark Cross was simply appearance, as you've noted. Leather faces on the seats, leather armrest in center on console, console was different, and leather on door panels. About all there was to it.

Re: 1985 Chrysler LeBaron Turbo Convertible Mark Cross $500 (MD)

Damn, if only it wasn't a convertible...

I had a chance years ago to buy an '86 2.2 Turbo LeBaron K body 2 door hardtop, but I couldn't get $200 for it. It was in great shape and would've made a light, fast turbo car.

Haven't seen another K body Lebaron Turbo like it since, but there's about 10,000 of the convertible ones all over the place, it seems.
