I am looking into selling my GLHS. It is mostly stock with a 3" exhaust side exit. 84K orig miles, clearcoat is fadded on the roof and hatch, hood is painted flat black. Its #28, and still has dash plaque, and original 86 centurions. Centurions are in good shape, could possibly use refinishing, and the original goodyear gatorbacks from 86 are still on them. In other words, it needs new tires. Interior is clean, nice seats. No rust on the body. Has all the GLHS specific stuff, including a T1 bottom end and 525. The motor and trans need a freshening.

I am only thinking of selling it at this point, so I am seeing if anybody is interested. Asking price is $5000. I have a spare 91 2.5L I was going to build for it, and an 87ish 555, along with a rear disc brake conversion. I will throw those in for the $5k asking price, or possibly take less if you are not interested.

Car is located near Detroit MI, in Harrison Twp. MI

More pics available if desired. For any further info, email me @ peopleunderthe@hotmail.com Or PM me. No Flaming please, serious inquiries only.

EDIT: Willing to TRADE for a late 90s neon, possibly RT or ACR that would serve as a good daily driver. Open to other potential trades as well (DSM?), must be a decent car that is daily drivable.

Will

sounds like a nice glhs.

5 grand, sounds reasonable.

recently on ebay an 86 glhs even nicer than yours went unsold as the opening bid of $4500 could not be met......

but the week before a worse one went for 5 grand.....

and i know of a 90% mint, 100% original 86 glhs with only 20K original miles for sale, priced around 10K

so..........you may or may not be at the right price point....based on only what i am reading here.

btw: i paid 11k for my 86 glhs......but it was as close to perfect as any car gets.

Thanks for the info... I am interested in feedback on price.

A couple things I forgot to include. There is a trans girdle on the 525, a newer clutch (about 10k on it), and the 3" exhaust is nice and solid with a dynomax bullet. Sounds REALLY nice IMO. With new paint the exterior of this car would look amazing... all body parts are clean and intact (GFX/side skirts etc...). I NEVER drilled any holes of any sort in the car so as to not permanantly modify it. The PO was the same way. Its an incredible starting point for a full resto, a nice race car, or great as a cruiser the way it is (pretty much what I used it for). I have never seen a cleaner set of omni seats either. :)

Marcus,

The Texas #210 86 GLHS(rollbar/one owner) that had an opening bid at $4500 sold outside of E-bay to a local Shelby person. I think the bid got to around $5300 but I am unsure what the car really sold for.

Yup the new owner is also on td.com and before any debate starts the rollbar has been documented as OWNER installed AFTER the car was purchased. :)

Yes it was a very nice car. I went and checked the car out personally and had the chance to drive it but I knew once I drove it I would have to have it. :)

The rollbar was a pretty tight fit for those of us over 6ft

will thanx for the pix.....glhs #028 looks to be a very nice car, needing only a fresh coat of paint for those blistered areas, i actually prefer a car like this to be sold with the original paint, that way the potential new owner sees the original condition and doesnt have to worry that a resto has covered major damage....

when it comes to the 86 glhs, by far the easiest thing to correct is paint, everything else is a p.i.t.a. and expensive.

good luck let us know when it sells and what price it went for...thanx.
