1992 Dodge Daytona IROC R/T - $3500.00

Category: Domestic
Status: Clean Title

I have a 1992 Dodge Daytona IROC R/T for sale, in USA - Alabama.

Mileage: 135,814 miles
VIN: 1B3XW64A9NN197748

Asking price is $3500.00

First, if someone would let me know where to post more pics for free, I will. The services I have found would not allow many without paying. Or, if anyone is interested in more, just email me and I can send several.
Now for the historyÖ
Iíve always wanted an IROC R/T as I was a huge IROC race fan. Unfortunately I could not find an R/T and had to settle for the IROC Daytona V6. I purchased one new in Daytona Beach in 1992 and it was a great car. In 1997 a friend of mine was at a car auction. He called me and said they just rolled in a 1992 R/T. At first I didnít believe him, but after the description I was convinced. According to bank officials, the owner could no longer make payments. The outward appearance of the car was pretty bad and fortunately for me no one there knew ANYTHING about the car. I picked it up for $2000. To my surprise, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car except that it needed re-painting. I drove it home from the auction house in somewhat a state of shock. At the time, the car had just under 40,000 miles.
I had found a picture of a Dodge Daytona Concept car and had the car re-painted and added the striping package that was on the Concept car. For the next 5 years, this was my everyday driver. To this day, the only thing I have ever done to this car is have the oil changed every 3000 miles and purchased tires. I finally got tired of shifting gears in work traffic and parked it. At the time I parked the car there were no problems and I would have no concerns with driving it across the country today. I parked it in 2002 with 130,000 miles. Today it has 135,814 miles. I always thought I would drive it more, on weekends, etc. But, with bowling, baseball and racquetball tournaments, etc, that didnít happen often. Now, I have new hobby that I really enjoy. I have a pic with my 3 new motorcycles in the shot.
If interested and you want to negotiate on the price, please keep in mind I donít want to sell it and I donít need to sell it. But, I also hate to see it just sitting in the basement. I have mixed emotions which maybe some of you can understand. Someone who appreciates what it is needs to be enjoying it.
Now, a little about the carÖ
Rust Free and never wrecked and always garage kept
Cloth interior in perfect condition, manual windows, power locks, Pop up sunroof
Radio died and was replaced with a Pioneer with CD
The car had louvers and I have pics of that. I took the louvers off as it was impossible to keep the back window clean. I still have them and the buyer is more than welcome to them.
I have a pic of the driversí side door issue I believe is an issue with all the Daytonas as the door is just too heavy for the frame, I guess. My V6 Daytona had the same issue. It is an aesthetic issue only. The door opens and closes just fine.
In about 2000 I started having trouble with batteries going dead. The mechanics were stumped. Finally a knowledgeable IROC mechanic was found. I donít recall the exact cause, but the part to repair the issue was not available. So, he placed an on/off toggle switch just under the dash so that when I turn the car off, I turn the toggle switch off. I turn it on just before I start the car. This solved the problem.
My friend who found the car purchased me a set of monogrammed floor mats in red and blue. I have used the blue ones, but the red ones are still in the plastic. They also will go with the car.
Viper alarm system with keychain remote
I also have one New in the package IROC R/T Medallion

Re: 1992 Dodge Daytona IROC R/T - $3500.00

JC,

Nice IROC Rt!! I had an 89ES I-4 that was great until a Jeep drove over the front and totalled it and a 91ES V-6 that was great until it had about 195K miles and was on its 4th auto trans. Is the offer firm or is it negotiable??

Are those decals or airbrushed R/T logos. Any engine issues, knocks, pings, low oil psi at idle etc.

Re: 1992 Dodge Daytona IROC R/T - $3500.00

First Speedracer72, thanks for the compliment on the car. As far as the asking price, it was determined after speaking to several sources. Based on the condition and rarity of the car, that is what we came up with. We tried to come up with a fair number for both buyer and seller. As the seller, especially with the emotional attachment, it is worth alot more to me. As I mentioned in my original listing, I don't really need to sell it, nor do I really want to sell it. But, I also hate to see it just sitting in my basement not being enjoyed. If it doesn't sell, I will probably wait until spring to list it again.

Daytona320
They are decals. No engine issues, knocks, pings, or low oil psi at idle.

I would be all over this if it was spring. Very clean and well worth the money.
