I have a 1985 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z for sale, in USA - Minnesota.

Mileage: 85,000 miles
VIN: 1b3ba64eofg247938
Engine Size: 2.2

Asking price is $1111.00

'85 Daytona Turbo Z

Runs good, drives well. Brakes work but need fixing. Could use exhaust. 2-tone paint, silver and red. Sunroof. Paint is faded and clear coat is peeling. Body is straight. Body is solid - very little rust under car - average surface rust. Floor boards and trunk 100% intact and clean - no rust. Interior has red checkerboard pattern on seats and door panels. Seats look as if they have been reuphostered within last 6 months. One, maybe two, minor blemishes on seats. Multi-enthusiast driver seat. Has digital chronometer. Has rear cargo cover. Believe car was manufactured late '84 due to '84 turbo Z options on car such as lighted speakers and 4-bolt pizza wheels. Passenger mirror currently unattached but comes with car. Correct Turbo Z hood however painted primer black, not burgandy.

Nice looking car and interesting. I didn't think ANY years other than 84 had the 4 lug wheels or the checkerboard seat material. I sure wish you were closer. Good luck with the sale!!!!

I am in Fergus Falls minnesota. I had alot of pictures but site would only let me input four pictures for whatever reason. I will try and put more pictures up. This is probably one of the first 85 turbo z cars made. Every piece of history I read on these cars says 84 was the only year for 4 bolt wheels, lighted speakers, checkered seat material. They probably through the left over parts from 84 onto the first few 85 cars made. Car is very clean underneath. Inside the spare wheel well it looks like a brand new car zero rust and no moisture ever got in there. I will try and get some shots up showing underneath the car.

I want to know if it still uses the old style 84 electronics, or if it uses the 85 style....

The car is a 5 speed tranny and shifts fine. as far as the 84 or 85 electronics I don't know how to tell the difference. If anyone would explain it to me I could look at the car and tell you what it has.

Me too...although the 10th character is an F = 85.

1985 electronics check
1) Open the passenger side kick panel.
2) If MAP sensor is physically part of LM then it's 1985 electronics. If its seperate, its 1984 electronics.

Guessing with all the other 1984 options, I would guess and say it would probably have 1984 electronics, too.

I don't believe it either. If this really is a 1985 with all 1984 stuff (and they are significantly different enough) this car is super super rare.

My guess? VIN read wrong off the dash and it really is a 1984. Post a picture of the vehicles VIN.

My "87 shelby z" had all the trimmings of an 87, 2 piece intake, 4-pin diff 555, but vin read as 88. So it is possible.

Also another indicator is to look over the engine, and look at the wastegate actuator can. If it has two lines running to it, it is an 84 style setup.

i correct myself, only 87 ttop cars ive had, my 87 red ttop had the old style glove box and knee panel too. was there a reason for this? ihad a black and a silver 87 both with round style. sorry off topic but always wondered about that. and ive noticed all 88 ttops had round style too.

car is an 85 the letter code is f and title states 85, I read the vin for the ad off the title. I will shoot a picture of the vin on the engine bay tag and post it, car also has the locking gas door and silver mirror, I read that they were only on 84's too. I will check the build date on the door jam too, although dodge used those crappy tags with the silver lettering. I have never been able to read any of the tags on my daytonas, I have had 16 daytonas, and they are all faded so bad you can't read them.
