1992 Dodge Spirit R/T - $$2,800
Status: Clean Title
I have a 1992 Dodge Spirit R/T for sale, in USA - Wisconsin.
Mileage: 106,132 miles
Engine Size: 2.2
Asking price is $$2,800
I have for everyones consideration a 1 of 68 produced, good running, reliable, and VERY rust free Spirit R/T. I have used it as a daily driver for 2 summers with great success and really enjoy this car. I just have to thin the herd out as I just picked up a MegaCab Diesel.
I have owned this car for 2 years now and aside from the timing belt tensioner failing after driving it about 15 miles and a few other quirks it has been great.
The only modifications I have done is the vintage JRB 2 1/2" exhaust (had it in the rafters of the garage). The CAT has been deleated as well.
The O2 sensor was replaced and O2 wiring redone a few thousand miles ago. Also the vacuum harness was redone at the same time. It has been code 55 ever since.
The engine is quiet and still runs strong. Sometimes at start-up there is a small puff of blue smoke but it clears up immediately. It doesn't leave drops on the ground but does have oil sepage from the cam covers. The head has never been off in the last 16 years. The transmission is quiet and shifts fine. I installed new cable bushings this summer. Tires have about 10K on them and are in great shape.
The interior is very clean. There are no rips in the seats and there has always been floor mats in the car. There is a Mopar Performance (AutoMeter) boost guage. The factory radio was replaced with a factory Infinity CD player and works good but sound kinda crappy. There is a small tear in the leather shift knob but hardly noticeable. The headliner is falling as they all are but I have resisted the urge to poke 10,000 holes it it with a stapler or tacks since I think it would ruin the fabric. The trunk is even clean with the original spare and jack assembly.
The underbody is most likely the cleanest I have seen (aside from my 91 R/T ;) ). There is virtually no rust either than what you would find on the unfinished raw steel parts. The parking brake cable is busted though.
The outer body is perfect as far as rust, and there is only one ding in the drivers side front fender. The bottoms of the doos and trunk lid are perfect. Unfortunately the wounderful early 90's Chrysler paint is bad. The roof is mostly surface rust and there is other areas where the paint is missing on the top surfaces.
The options on this car are few. Manual windows and locks. It has ABS, thats about it. Interestingly, this car has a black dash. From what I have read, all but 2 92R/T had a woodgrain dash.
I have been around this car since my best friend (was my best man..... twice) bought it from a dealership in 97. It has never seen a winter since then.
I have a bunch more pics if anyone wants more.
Im asking $2800, OBO.
Thanks for looking, Steve
