Might increase our ability to sell if non paying members could view and reply, just not start new threads.. That way only paying members can sell there, but we can sell to all members.. Might even give the non-paying members a kick in the pants to want to pay. :) Not sure if that's possible tho.. :)

Or maybe they could view, just not post. I can say though that this area is what finally made me get off my duff and be a contributer. I always wanted to before but knowing that I had to contribute to get into this area was what finally made me do the whole paypal thing. And now I've used paypal for 3 other things since then... Before I never wanted anything to do with paypal. Maybe the ability to view the threads without being able to post replies might make them see what they're missing, and make them become contributing members. Right now, they will never know that there's something here that they might want, so the incentive is less, I would think.
But, as in all things, I bow to the judgement of the administators... Whatever you decide is fine with me... I eventually would have contributed anyway, or I would like to think so, lol.
I haven't had any interest in anything I've posted here and I'm still glad I became a supporting member, so it wasn't the only reason I subscribed, but it definitely was the catalyst.

I see one small flaw. If they can view, they can see the items, which first off isn't fair. 2nd, if they see an item they like, they can PM the owner and buy them.
But the having to be a member to sell is a good idea!

I agree with paying for better features. What I meant to say was it isn't fair non-paying members can see the items for sale but can't post, big deal, all they do then is PM the seller. Get my point?

Yeah, but I'd imagine it would more than double the audience that the paying members can sell to.

I was thinking logically along the same lines as Simon, but you've both got a point.

what about if the non paying members can see everything, but not post, or pm abotu them, or do anything but look and cry...then when they become a contributor, there will be a 6 month waiting period where they cant do anything on the board at all, and after that we charge them a $.50 per post "convienince" fee?....just kicking around ideas seriously though, a bigger audience in here would help move the items for sale....

Ummm... Is there anything for sale here? I don't see anything.
BTW, does anyone know where I can get a rear bumper for a 1970 Dart?
