I have seen the digi dash in phantoms like mine (analog '94) it's almost plug and play, and a friend swaped the older lebaron digital dash to his spirit 16v, the only change was the conector and a couple of dremel cuts.

spirits and phantoms 8 valves hadn't boost gauge, only the 16v, and older phantoms and gts used the square gauge in the dash.

Holy crap, a digital boost gauge? Is that a factory item or added?

Nah, that gage is added, notice the A/F meter LED's above it. He used the factory message center to put it in.

What I want to know is where the selector switches were installed for the cluster? That's a G-body cluster in an A-body dash, there's no room for the buttons that are supposed to be in the upper left hand corner. I know if you put that dash in the P-body you have to mod that part too. I think I've also seen it done to an L.

Yes, that dash is fairly plug&play, but the newer G/J body dashes are not. They are controlled by the BCM, which differs from non-digital cars, and there are also two versions of it depending on what year the car is. IIRC you can't even power them up outside the car without hooking it up to the BCM. As I said before, there's a LOT of information on this in several threads on these forums...

I forgot to mention something, if the car (J-body 1990-1994) already has the vehicle systems monitor, then chances are that it already has the propper BCM for the digital dash. I'm not 100% on this, but I know that the systems monitor HAS to be used with that BCM in order to work propperly. So, if this is the case, then cars equipped with the anolog cluster and the systems monitor "might" be a simple plug-swap and plug&play for the digital dash. I've never seen a car here in the US equiped with the anolog cluster and the systems monitor...I don't think they were optioned that way here, but I could be wrong. To my knowledge nobody has every tried.

Yes, this swap has been done to a few Daytona's. No Daytona that "I" know of came with the digital dash from the factory. But there could always be that 1...

A quick dealer look-up of the BCM PN will tell you if it's the correct one as for all years(dunno about '95...that year is all messed up) there were only 2.

the a/f gauge is custom made, but actually I ignore what is that thing below. edit: saw the big pic "vac/bst"

the side buttons aren't in a fix place yet, he just made an extension waiting for a nice idea to put them the best way.

as for the rest of the info on this dash swap, here's the link to the original post, it's in spanish, but you can figure out the main data:
Adaptacion de cluster digital a Spirit

It is my understanding that the first generation was SBEC 90-91 and the second was SBEC2 92-95. However, 92 and 93 are different because 92 had flip down head lamp covers and 93 did not. The BCM was supposed to control the headlamps in 92. I think all of this was discussed in the big digital conversion thread, but there's a lot of info in there. I have never seen or heard of a 90+ Daytona with digital dash from the factory either. And I think it wasn't offered on LeBarons after 93. I have a late model digi dash sitting in my parts bin, but I did not grab the BCM for it nor do I remember what year LeBaron it came from, so it's kind of useless to me. I grabbed it years ago from the junkyard before I knew they changed the way the dash worked.

Yeah, the '92 and '93 BCM's are different. I forgot about that, nice catch I don't know about the digitals not being offered in '94 though...

I am looking for gray interior trim for a J-body (1987-1989) LeBaron coupe hardtop. If you have anything please PM me before throwing it out. I am also selling tan trim if you're interested.
