Hey can we get some underhood pics of the car?

I have black handles on my premium. And i had a 94 gtc with body color handles. I doubt that helps. I just haven't posted here in a while.

Not sure. I'm pretty sure it was original on the GTC. But after they redesigned the lebaron in 93, the GTC was the base model.

On the 1987 premium coupe i'm not sure. They look about 20 years old, but the car was in a major accident before i got it. I'm gonna assume yes. The premium has a lighted key hole.

The silver one on the photo has a lighted key hole. Mine doesn't. But it seems to have a clear plastic ring around the key hole. So the light could be broken.

My 87' parts car has black door handles. All three of my GTCs had chrome. They started painting them the same color as the body in 92' or 93'.

Yeah so i guess the premium gets black. Weird. I thought the premium was a model up from the GTC? Or a model down? Dunno.

I guess the GTC is better than the premium because of the standard turbo motors and the T2's.

Anyway, does anyone have any idea what this is for?

What they did was take chassis that were meant to be highlline models and gave them the GTC package. It was essentially a sports package. However, the GTC got pretty much the same interior as the premium models save for the the option of the digital dash, I think.

You mean that the digital dash wasn't an option on the GTC's?

By the way, my LeBaron has vented rotors. But that could also be an option I guess.

As far as I know, the digital dash was not an option in the GTC. It would appear your car has had a turbo transmission installed. The vin comes back as an 89 Lebaron Premium, 2.5L TBI. I will have to look closer, but I think the front brakes you have pictured are the standard 10 inch units. When you say your rotors are vented, did you mean the fronts only, or are you talking about the rear rotors as well. I think the reason the silver Lebaron next to your car has black door handles is because it was made in 88, but sold as an 89 in europe. I could confirm that if you could get me the vin from that car also.

How did you look up the vin? Do you know what TBI means? Just took a look and the back wheels have normal rotors. So that would mean this is a premium of which the trunk lid has been replaced I guess. So turbokid was right. About the lit door locks: mine are not lit (anymore), any known way to fix that?

TBI means throttle body injection. It means it has one big fuel injector instead of four injectors. All the GTCs have vented rear rotors as well. If it doesn't have them then you don't have a GTC. As for fixing the handles, something has to light that little ring up. Just replace the bulb that lights it up. Mine don't anymore either.

BTW. I'm still trying to figure out shipping for those lamps.

Ok, I will take a look at that. It seems like a cool gadgety feature The car indeed has one injector instead of four. And I just bought a replacement for it because it doesn't work. Never did since I have it. The car runs on LPG. American cars on ordinary gas are not drivable as a daily driver in the Netherlands, gas prices here are up to €1,70/L due to excessive taxes, that's about $10 per gallon.

By the way, is it working out well with the turn signal lenses?

turbokid- if you're goin to gateway you'll be in heaven- one of the biggest junkyards in the st louis is directly across the street from gateway- speedway auto salvage- dirt cheap pull it yourself and they'll help or pull it for you for a reasonable fee.
