Nice. I found SOS pads and bleche white cleans wheels really well.

Yes, I used it on the oxidized plastic. It isn't a miracle, it won't fix things, but it does help take some of the whiteness out. I would guess some kinds are more aggressive than others too, so you'd want to be careful depending on what you use.

Ah-ha!
Found the real Daytona pics thread..... Here's an admittedly terrible pic, but it's undergoing some changes and I'll post better pics down the road.....

Silver 1989 Daytona ES, 2.5 turboI with an auto....

The black car is my parts car...

This was my momma's 1986 Laser, a couple buddies are seen here throwing in a non-stock engine. Yes it drove. Yes it was fast.

Wow I like how clean that one looks. I've never seen the plastic molding that goes around the t-tops painted the color of the car (unless its a black car of course). That looks good!

This was my buddy Mark's (rib256) '89 Daytona Shelby. I have it now after we rebuilt the engine and did a whole list of other things to it. The paint still looks pretty bad, but it runs great. I'm hoping to clean it up and maybe get it repainted sometime this year if I can scrape together the money. Stupid bills getting in the way of my car projects.

T2 5-speed, digi dash, and a not-pictured overhead console. Interior is in decent shape. Car was parked at a technical college for a long time because the PO drove the car with a rod knock and screwed the crank. The car was still drivable but had low oil pressure and the obvious noise. It sat in the parking lot for a long time before Mark chanced upon it. Another one saved from the crusher.

What were those wheels and do you remember how much they weighed?
Thanks! the wheels were 17" Konig 'monsoons' that i took the scripts off of and painted the centers black. they're a one piece rim, so meticulously taping it off to retain the chrome studs was a pain in the @ss!
truthfully i dont know the weight.
