That is a nice looking car! What a shame about the cancer. Are you going to be able to salvage it?

Thanks! I'm not sure what direction I'm going at this point. I have a pretty built up 2.2 TII motor from an '88 Shelby Z in her and was considering trying to find a rust-free chassis to move my parts to (I HATE rust work ). I'm not having much luck finding a clean first gen car in the PA area or even close-by. Right now I'm torn between fixing it and just looking for a 3rd gen (in talks for an IROC R/T that I really want right now). There's also alot of paint work to be done; the car would really need to be totally stripped this time. It's tough to let go tho....

Wow..that car has most of the DC Aero kit on it! That's kinda rare! If you do end up sending it to the great race track in the sky, at least save to good stuff!

BTW, '86 Turbo Z's are in my top 3 as far as the best looking TD's out there! I LOVE that car!

No I didn't just buy my shelby. I was the one selling it and had to hold off do to problems with getting my other car on the road plus there were acouple things I wanted to fix on the shelby before I sold it. Probably will be up for sale in 2 months or so.

Good eye, thanks for noticing!! I love the first gens too. This one wasn't even a turbo to start with and orignally was gold in color. The reason for "most" of the DC Aero kit is that I got the kit from another car and the front air dam was too badly damaged to use so I substituted the turbo Z nose instead. There's about 12 years of history with this car and me (that I won't bore anybody with!! lol) so it hurts to let her go, but parts are getting scarce in the area since the price of scrap is up and I'm not sure I could find good quarters to section even if I wanted to.

It'd be a real shame to junk it. That's a really good looking 1st gen. I never would have thought to put pumpers on it, but with the body kit and that color blue, it just works. I hope you find a way to fix it or at least find another good body to swap over to.

I have straight quarters for her but I am in missouri unfortunately.
Looks like a very nice car!
If you have the funds and the time I would say SAVE HER~!
Too many of these cars are going away cause of rust and what not.
Not to many people want to restore these cars because they aren't worth anything now. But if you love the car the way I love my cars I would strip her and get'er done with some body work and paint =)

I"m sorry about the cancer too. And why would something that pretty be in a salvage yard?

Well,I am finally getting somewhere on the underbody of my 91 TIII Shelby. Got the floor base-cleared,the brake and fuel lines and tank sprayed, and all of the suspension parts powdercoated. I HOPE I can finish it for Carlisle. Heres a few few pics....

I will have some more once I get the rear suspension ad brakes done.
