Daytona Thread-Post Pics

I have an 85 Dodge Daytona. I was told it is a Z but I don't think it is. I bought it for $475 a few years ago (I payed too much). It took me 9 months to replace the fuel lines, 2 brake lines, all the brakes, and the front floor. I drove it 3 short times and found that the tranny had a hole in it. I rebuilt a 555 tranny and I am rebuilding the head. I hope to have it assembled and intercooled by the end of the summer. Still a lot of cosmetic work to do, though. I already spent about $3,000 in parts including tires and rims. I love this car despite I havent driven it much. It has potential.

Right after I brought it home.


Lots of porting and polishing. Will be adding singh grooves.

Idk it doesn't having any marking of a turbo z but I am not one to know.
I am more of a laser person myself!

It it is a Turbo Z, there should be an E in the VIN, right? Otherwise it'll be a D.

I don't think it is.. Its possible, but I kinda doubt it. I think all of them had the ground effects on them. And the front end looks like a laser.

A or E in the VIN

a or e refers to t1 or t2. if you mean the 8 digit.seeing as it is an85 it would be t1.

it has no ground effects or badging so my conclusion would be that it is a turbo daytona. still the best nose they ever made on these cars.and a nice grab for the price as the body looks straight and solid.

the exhoust tip deos lol those only came on turbo cars... or it was a car someone made and took alot of time building... and unless it was repainted the hood would be a differnt color black..
