Heres a few updated pics of the Red Shelby. Only a few hours of work left before she gets loaded up of Carlisle

For those of you that noticed the rear Pumpers direction is wrong but I couldnt resist to put them on today. The other two are a day away(I hope) if UPS didnt lose them

I'm just giving you a hard time. LoL. The Daytona was always fuel injected though.

Jackson, excellent work as always. I was just getting ready to ask you why the rear pumper was on backwards when I read the bottom of your post.
I don't think I'd want mirrored pumpers on my DD, but they'll definately win you points for coolness factor on a show car. I can't go to Carlisle again this year. I've wanted to go ever since I found out about it, but I can't afford the (relatively short) trip up there. Bring us back pictures!

I'm fairly sure that the VERY base model '84 Daytona's and Lasers were the electronic feedback carbs. Thye had the funky wierd metal air cleaner on them with the "triangular" air filter and such IIRC. My mom had an '84 Laser base car...I'm pretty sure it wasn't fuel injected, but I was only 4 when she got it...so....:shrugs:

FYI: my 84 Daytona brochure lists (under standard features): 'Electronic Fuel Injection-Single Point' and 'Engine-2.2 liter four-cylinder single point electronic fuel injected' as standard on the base Daytona. It then lists the turbo motor. djd.

LoL. It's amazing anyone still has an '84 brochure.

Yes, the G-24 was always meant to have the better engines of the line. It was a "super sports car" afterall.

If it wasn't for lack of funding, it probably would have been a true "super" sports car. Imagine an Iroc R/T with AWD and a V6 turbo. Oh wait, that's called the Stealth. Hm. Budget cuts indeed...

Well, I bought my Daytona Turbo on Sept. 13, 1983. As you can see, mine has to have been one of the first ones made. I always intended to keep it so I have kept as much 'paperwork' as possible. And, I have seen these 'brochures' quite often come up on ebay. So, they are readily accessible to anyone that wants one. My brochure also has a nice picture of my car in it, so that made it even more 'keepable'. djd.

^ That's cool. I'd like to have been able to get one of the first off the line. Unfortunately I was only 2 years old in 1983, so that would have been difficult. Guess I'll have to stick to buying them 20 years used and making them run like new again.

Then again, if I could just get my car to Jackson for a little while, it might be like getting one off the assembly line. Maybe better?

Well, one of these days I'll have her back on the road. She has about 170k miles on her now and has been parked for about 10 years. While parked some mice got in under the dash and destroyed wiring. That's what I'm dealing with now (unfortunately, I know nothing about wiring!!). I'll get it done someday. I really think that if it wasn't for the mice, she'd be on the road again--barring something else going wrong. Rick has helped me out a LOT with it. She needs paint REALLY bad!! One of these days.......... djd.
