I love 'em both. I've got my '86 but a good friend has a '92. I need to get some pictures of his car up here. It is "off the hook" as you might have said a couple of years ago on the south side of the ATL.

I probably would have that many Daytonas if I could afford it.

You and me both. I had my chance to buy a 92 R/T a few years ago but I didn't have the money. $3300. It was in okay shape but it was obvious it had a hard life. And it had been riced out. Someone cut the shifter, put some ugly wheels on it with tiny tires, fart can muffler, etc etc. I wanted so bad to buy it and put everything back like it should be. I tried to scrape the cash together, begging and borrowing from everyone I could, but the car was gone the next week. About a month later I saw it in a trailer park with the front end crunched. Someone on here bought it after that and put the engine in something else. I was so mad over the whole ordeal. But at least the drivetrain was saved.

I could post this without the story:
It's been a little less than 2 months since I bought the ol' 89 T-top Shelby Z. Ben White (the previous owner) contacted me through a friend (JohnnyLightning86) in 2004 to do some performance modification and ecu tuning on the almost stock 2.2.
He bought this car from Cindy at FWD Performance in 2003 for his son to get back and forth to college. Cindy's cousin originally found the car in the back yard somewhere with a bad head and bought it. It was fixed and driven for a year then traded to Cindy, then sold to Ben. Ben then proceeded to replace ALMOST EVERY piece on the car, painted the car himself with factory color code, then re-applied the factory stripes bought from Possitive Impressions.
One day I called him only to ask about a part on the car when he went on to ask if I knew anyone who might want to buy the Daytona...."Maybe I Do!"...
He was kind enough to make me a deal and here it is. I just drove it from Dallas to Houston and back this past weekend with a best of 28 MPG and a good ride. This is my 3rd Daytona and by far the best daily driver! Many thanks to Ben for the work he put into this car and knowing I was the right person to get it.
The car has:
2.2 Common block-Venolia pistons .20" over bore
Stock Garrett turbo (about to have a Super 70)
16-17 psi boost (good for daily driver)
2.5" Exhaust
52pph injectors
Spearco FM IC
A-555 Cliff rebuilt trans
Koni struts-Koni shocks
16x7 Konig wheels
Nitto NT420 All-Seasons

I bought every daytona I ran across up til around 1999.Since then I`ve tried downsizing and to quit spending money on soo many cars. However with the current gas prices it`s hard to beat the looks and mileage these cars get.My black one won`t be a daily driver but I did get a omni glh-t last week that I plan to make into a daily driver until I find a nice 89-93 black daytona shelby or iroc.

I just tossed some 17" rims on my Daytona, and I got this VICIOUS dog so nobody would get near the car!

My '86 that I rescued from the salvage yard. These pics are about 4 years ago. I was getting ready to repaint it this year and found a good bit of cancer in the rocker and quarters
