im thinking of removing the black side molding on my omni (runs all the way around the car starting at the top of the head light bezel then going around to the bottom of the rear hatch) im wondering, f i remove that plastic strip, will there be hundreds of little rivet hols ill have to deal with? or is it just glued on with double sided tape of sorts?
please help. thanks!!

its just glued on for the most part. i'll have to double check my car. i think there are two spots on the end of the hatch that had rivet points. i'll check in the morning

i bought my horizon without half of it, i ripped off the rest. the hatch has rivet holes going all the way across where the molding is, as far as i remember (i havent looked at the car in like 2hrs. when i got home) thats th only rivet holes though. a little filler should take care of it nice

the sides however are just glued on and boy is that glue a p.i.t.a. to get off...

id love to have my molding back though, i personally like it better...

^ he's right abot the rivits on the hatch. they go all the way across. i'd spend the time and weld em shut. filler is never gonna stay in those holes

I recommend using piano wire to cut it off where it glued and some adhesive remover to get what's left. That way, you can at least re-use the strips if you decide you don't like the look without them (I personally don't). If you just you go yanking them off you will stretch them and make them all warped and wavy. Pretend you're taking out a windshield, piano wire is your friend

EDIT: never mind... I posted and I had 2dr on the brain
