I need a little help here , I was told today there is no difference between a 91 NON Shelby Turbo Hood and a 91 Shelby Turbo Hood. I sure hope I am not crazy. I Believe I noticed a difference. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks,

As far as I know they are both the same as long as they are both turbo hoods with the bump for clearance.

I've always been under the impression that it was to create extra room in the throttle body / intake area. I've never tried a non turbo hood on a daytona to check the clearnace.

yeah i transplanted a turbo engine in my 90 es, orginally an 2.5 NA, still had the flat hood and there were no clearance issues.

anyway to answer the question by new2turbo
the non shelby hood with a turbo 'bumb' should be the same as a shelby hood. just decals would be the difference.

now an older hood, 89 and older wont fit a 90+ car. the rad support and latch alignments are different.

The non shelby and shelby turbo hoods are the same for '91 for sure.

I had a '91 iroc with a t1 (same as '91 shelby) for awhile and it had a hood from a '90 es on it and there wasn't a noticable difference.

The turbo call out may be different, but in '91 the daytona's only had t-1's in them across the board if they were turbos, so if it's a '91 turbo hood for '91 shelby hood, they should be exactly the same.
