I've got a question for the daytona people... were the shelby models the only daytona's that came with the black accent on the top of the rear wing ('89-'91)?

And did all of the shelby's come with that? I've seen some that don't have it, so I'm not sure if they were re-painted or what.

I have a '90 shelby vnt that has the black accent and when I re-paint it I'm thinking of leaving it off but I'd also like to be accurate to how the car was from the factory... also, was it glossy or flat black? Mine is looking sort of flat at the moment, but I'm assuming that's from age.

Anyone know for sure?

As far as I know. That's the only car I've ever seen it on. As far as the VNT, I think the all black ones are all shiny. I may be wrong, but I believe my Black 90 Shelby Daytona didn't have any flat black. But my white VNT did have the black accents.

I think I classify as "Daytona people"
Yes,im almost positive only the Shelbys were like that. I have yet to se an ES that did. 89 Shelbys had the dark charcoal on the top of the wing. In 90 the Shelbys had the satin black gellcoat on top of the wing(yes Bob yours should of had that if it wasnt repainted) and in 91 they were the body color top and bottom

I was starting to have second thoughts on that. I don't remember it being shiny on top so it must have been semi flat black. I only owned it 9 years so how am I supposed to remember everything?

I bought mine new and the mirrors, moldings around the window, top of side wings and spoiler top were all the same black. It was not a "gloss" black but had a somewhat shiny surface, do not know the exact color.

Satin black. I have seen a few '90 Shelbys with no black on the spoiler but only T1 cars!? Every '90 TIV VNT Ive seen had the Satin black on the spoiler.

Ok, that makes sense then why the black on my wing is not glossy.

Well, if the vnt shelby's came with a black accent then I guess I'll keep it.

Thanks for the confirmation guys!
