So i just recently bought an 87 pacifica with T-tops. Turns out there is no sway bar on the car and the mounts have busted bolts in them so getting brackets on is impossible. im debating on selling my iroc and pacifica but if there is a way to take the tops off and switch them, id be pretty stoked.

I understand that i will need to cut both roofs equally and trade doors, but im worried about it not being safe, and being expensive. i looked around but couldnt find a thread on this even though i remember there being talk of it a long time ago. thanks!

You are 1,000,000 times better off removing the broken sway bar bolts or if it comes to it replacing the lower control arms and/or K member.

Well the ones that are broken are the middle mounts, i have my 91 sway bar out and i know the middle mounts are different but is the sway bar the same? and i didnt really look i guess but are the middle mounts attached to something that could be interchangable betwen the cars? i love the 87 look so much more than the 91. id hate to see them go and if i can put the 91 into the 87 then part out the rest id be happy

I dont know that much about interchangablity (is that a word?) of daytonas, but I would think you should be able to swap the whole K member, lower control arms, and rack and pinion. You should search the forum abit and if you cant find anything start a thread in the suspension section. Good luck!

Just extract the broken bolts. Pain in the butt, but easier than doing all the other stuff.

The T-top cars look like they literally took a reciprocating saw to everything and glued on all the trim and stuff. Hmm, I changed my mind. Try swapping the T-top stuff and let me know how it goes.

if you just change the skin your OK. But if you change and cut the roof off your in trouble. Or do what ever and add a role bar lol

that's what they did but they had patterns to go by. They were built in Fenton, Mo. and chopped in St Charles Mo. The test for leaks was driving to a nearby car wash.

All you have to do is pull 4 bolts that are holding the k-member on, then you will just have to remove the steering knuckles to drop the K-member. You will need to use the lower control arms from the 91, which are better anyways.
