I dont think Chrysler ever offered a hood scoop. The scoop u might be seeing could be the"Direct Connection" scoop from the 80,s. I had a D.C. intercooler setup on my 86 Laser XT,and the intercooler sat over and behind the valve cover,so the origanal hood had to be modified so it would fit, thats where the D.C scoop was fabbed on the hood, but man they look fantastic. It was a cowl scoop, meaning it was designed to get its intake air off the bottom of the windshield area(cowl). On a side note: I had to cut a hole in my stock hood, but for the looks and performance I gained,it was worth it.

I built my own hood for my daytona. Twin scoop that comes all the way down the hood, ram air style. Think there's a pic on my profile if you want to see. It's the blue one aka Blue Bomber. If you don't want to go that far, you could order one from summit racing, one of those plastic jobbies that's easy to return to stock later

I have a 1985 Turbo Z with direct connections intercooler installed. I took the original hood grill and converted it into a scoop for the intercooler. I am back working on my car after several years of home renovations.

There was a scoop for the dc intercooler back in 1986 or so to fit a daytona but I did not get one.

Soon I will be in the process of removing the front rubber/plastic nose of the car to get the DC intercooler in front of the radiator. I will have to figure out how to get the hosing to the front. I will then put the hood grill back flush.

I did not want to do any body work on the car as it all original paint still to this day.
