if you have a 4 headlamp charger or turismo kickin around - take the 5-0 scoop over to it and put it on the hood - backwards

now if you cut a ^ shape in the middle of what used to be the back wall of the scoop and give it a gentle pull on your knee to bend the corners towards you - it will fit the hood - and mirror the indented hood lines better than ya might think before you see it

then to keep the shape - a short piece of I beam curtin rod - long as the scoop is wide - with a hole for one front corner stud drilled in , adjust bend in scoop as needed - mark curtin rod to drill at right length - bolt up , fiberglass notch and remove curtin rod

finish as needed

I had one on my turboed turismo - if I coulda scooped a through hood intercooler I would have made it a shaker style deal by just cutting the rectagular hole in the top

Re: daytona hood scoop rarity?

What is happening with the DC scoop? I think it would look good on the Lebaron, and I think I will need one to clear the intake manifold.

Re: daytona hood scoop rarity?

I contacted the person on the Shelby forum that supposedly has it, and the kit is for sale, but he thinks the scoop is aftermarket, which it could be, but I have not been able to get him to send photos after requests. I wish someone would take a few closeups with measurements and post photos.

Re: daytona hood scoop rarity?

He has the rear opening Shadow type scoop, not the Dayton a scoop.

Re: daytona hood scoop rarity?

Hell, trying to find one of those is like looking for a DC over the top mount log intake Intercooler.

I went and bought a 1986 Nisan 300 ZX hood scoop, was gonna bolt it to my hood, and then cut open the underside, for my CAI. But since the car is now for sale, oh well.
