daytona hood scoop rarity?

A guy I know through a mutual friend came to me and said he had a hood scoop for sale that was made for my daytona. I had only seen one before on ebay with the scoop and it took me forever to find a picture of one on google but I finally did. Does anyone have any info on the scoop (who made them, rarity, and worth). thanks for the input.

Re: daytona hood scoop rarity?

mopar performance - rather I think at the time - direct connection "forward faceing intercooler scoop"

VERY RARE - worth bucks - scoop it if offered cheep , use it or sell it

I've been wanting one for years but their really hard to find as they were only in the catalog for a year or two

min I'd ask is 3 hun

Re: daytona hood scoop rarity?

i had kinda figured they were rare and the car on ebay even had the top mount intercooler. I really wish I wouldve snagged it. but I have a feeling i will be checking it out to make sure its in good shape then checkiing price.

Re: daytona hood scoop rarity?

There was a guy who I found on CL with one of these scoops for 10 bucks. Sadly I drove 2 hours to get it to find out "he threw it away" cause I took too long to get it

Re: daytona hood scoop rarity?

Wasn't a forward facing.I will continue the hunt though. Or maybe a member on here who has one would be willing to let someone make a mold for them. I could care less if it was rare and original, I just want that scoop because it looks badass. any tona owners out there with a dc scoop?

Re: daytona hood scoop rarity?

This car was for sale back in November. He lived 2 hrs away from me but I was to lazy to go look at it and it finally sold. He listed it on Craigslist and kept relisting it on ebay but changed the description on what he thought the car needed and I doubt he fixed any of it. I believe it finally sold for around $1500. Interior was rough and had fuel leaks. He claimed the hood was factory but I didn't believe it at the time.

Re: daytona hood scoop rarity?

if someone does find one i am interested in havinig a mold made. there is a company near me and usually if there is enough orders they make the mold for free. the hood i had mocked up and ready to go was going to cost 500.00 for just the mold but if i gave them 15 orders they were going to do it for free. so i would be willing to help out

Re: daytona hood scoop rarity?

yeah im in too. check for how much it would be after the mold is made. Im sure we can get at least 15 guys on here to be willing to have it made. plus if you can get them to make an account on here we can track it straight to them. keep us informed if it works out.
