dodge omni replacement headlamps

Seen a bunch on Ebay. Some are sealed some are complete replacements.
Anyone sporting these? I wanted to go total replacement but most I've seen do not have High/Low beams, just a constant beam.

I would highly recommend the following combo, as I have it on my Omni.

For the actual housing I would recommend any 200mm combo from seller rimiinc. I got a department of transportation approved housing, however, many people also get the euro type headlight set. They both come with a good set of light bulbs.

If you want brighter light bulbs with the above (don't install these on non upgraded housing without relays) I would recommend these light bulbs. They are 140W/100W bulbs. I use these on my Omni with properly aligned headlights. I can see the road perfect and I don't blind other drivers.

To take advantage of both of these, you need to install relays in your lighting circuit. Great information can be found at Stern Lighting about doing this. For my Omni I used 10 gauge wire with 30 amp fuses and relays to make sure I don't burn out the headlamp switch.

If you cannot build, or don't know how to wiring in a new harness, you can buy a plug and play one from this ebay seller. His harness looks top quality and is plug and play for an Omni.

By doing all of the above, you will have a quality headlight system that is bright and will not blind other drivers.

thank you for the very informative response. I think I left out a key piece of information. I have a GLH. There are complete kits on ebay as well.

Base Omni or Omni GLH, the headlight assembly and wiring with be the same (except for of coarse the addition of the driving lights in the GLH)

thought the 4x6 and 7x6 doesnt make much sense. The stock replacement lamps are 7x6 (H6054) but all the sizing on ebay state that is the wrong size...

Does Euro light = the added city light?

The copy of the Hella are pretty cheap. I'm in the process of changing mine and I might give them a shot because of the price. Will see.

Don't trust or pay attention to the ebay "compatibility" crap, espiecally for older cars. Yeah the Omni takes the big 6054's

that's what I was thinking. It made zero sense telling me to buy tiny ones haha.

I don't mind spending the cash they look great and huge improvement over stock.

The euro light is a different lens mandated by the EU. It has a "sharper cutoff" and slightly different beam pattern. The added city light is simply an added city light. The seller I listed earlier sells both euro lights and euro lights with added city lights.


OmniWrx--I forgot to mention that you may find that some H4 conversion kits will require you to grind out the headlight housing to fit the slightly deeper lens. I had to do this with my Omni. It wasn't difficult, nor will you be able to notice it when the light bulbs are installed.

The kit you listed earlier may work just fine, however, the parts I listed earlier are known to be good quality. I use them and I can personally attest with the beam pattern being good, bright, and not blinding to other drivers.

I get ya. Well I was looking at the kits because they sell black lenses as well. I thought that would look great on the black GLH.
