Well, if you're getting broken door handles, you need another l-body tip
The door handle pushes down on a metal rod to open the door. If you've already changed a door handle out, you should know what I'm talking about - this is the metal rod that you had to disconnect from the handle to put the new one on. The rod has a bend in it - just straighten out the bend a little bit and then you'll barely have to pull up on the door handle at all to open the door.
I went through this same thing with my glh - broke 2 door handles before I finally analyzed the problem and realized that simply taking some of the bend out the rod made the door open like butter! Since the rod is flimsy, it looks like what happens is that the stock bend that the factory put in it slowly gets more bent and causes the door handle to have to be lifted more and more to open the door - until finally, pop - the door handle breaks from the stress.
