Did the same thing to my charger but add like 5 extra white blubs. I just solider plain 10mm to the back broke the connection on back of the board and solider the resistor in there. Now the stock dimmer works with the lights and there really bright now.

You can get drop-in 194 LED replacement bulbs from either Autolumination.com or SuperBrightLEDs.com. The come in 1, 4, 5, or 6 LED versions from both vendors. I strongly recommend the 5-LED version. Excellent light distribution. Personally I'm not really a fan of Autolumination because I had originally bought their bulbs and I had random problems with them within 3 months, not to mention their prices are a bit high in my opinion.

I already did my Neon and I'll be doing my Daytona as well. I figure with a blue Daytona, the blue interior lights will look perfect. Here's my Neon (don't even ask what I had to go through getting the stock stereo to match):

I know it won't work on the 87+ digital dash. The internals of that dash consist of 3 large vacuum fluorescent displays. They can't be modified. As for the 84-86 digital, I've never torn one apart.

hhhmmmmmm, thanks for the tips johnnyMopar & 3Lsleeper! i'm not a fan of the orange lights in my Lexus, maybe i'll try swapping those out for blue to match the Alpine monitor i'll be putting in there soon.

also, very nice job 3Lsleeper! thanks a ton for the ideas!!
