black interiors on 87-88 daytonas?

Does anyone know how many, if they even did, 87 or 88 daytonas (specifically shelby z's) came with black interiors? I think i remember someone in texas having a red one with black leather, and i recently sold my black on black 87, but i installed a mint black leather interior out of an 86 laser.

I just dont see very many with black , its always tan, gray, burgandy or that blue-ish color.

If they did come with black, (im pretty sure they did) does anyone have production numbers?

Also, does anyone have production numbers on the Charcoal colored shelby z's, i know those are rare, and when i buy my next project shelby z (soon?) i want that color.

As far as I know there are no black interiors 87-89. I've seen the 86 black interior swapped in though.

Yup,no black in those years. 84-86s had the old style black that can be easily swapped in. Also the 90,91 cars had a factory black and is my personal favorite
The best way,I think,to swap out a Shelby Z is to use the 84-86 dash and door panels and the rest from a 90,91 car.

I like the full 84-89 interior's better. I have parts from a black 86 mixed in with my factory tan pieces.

wasnt that "factory black" in the 90 and up cars just considered the Charcoal color? Im sure it is and there is a big shade difference between the charcaol and the older 1st gen vlack interiors..

not trying to stir the pot... just though it was considered charcoal, not black

i thought so, and yes i had an 87 shelby z with tan that i put bits and pieces of black trim pieces in, i think it looked really cool.

I did eventually swap in a mint full black leather from a laser, and another member on this board no has that car, its a very nice looking car with the black on black

maybe the red shelby z in texas had an iterior swapped in from 86, because i do know it was black since i almost bought the car... it was a member on the board i think...

Well you are half right The 90-91 cars actually had BLACK as an option. The 92-93 cars had the dark charcoal as an option. There is quite a difference in the colors if you set peices from each side by side.
