does anyone else notice that for some reason the red interiors seems to wear better? that red cloth seems to outlast all the other colors by a long shot, silver seems to be the most delicate. seems that way anyways.
my fav glh combo is silver w/ silver interior, followed by black w/ the tan interior.

Yeah. It was originaly a red interior, but I HATE red. So I got a full set of seats out of a 87 GLHS and I installed those along with a full silver gut from another omni I junked last year. I like to keep my car just as much of a "street" car as I do "race" car. It has a clean interior (except sagging headliner) perfect carpet and dash (full of gauges ) and it has the 86 style 135mph speedo wrap around. I also just installed my CS horn button in my grant wheel along with all the switches to run my nitrous stuff
Oh....and I almost forgot my remote mounted MBC. You gotta love that just reach over and watch the boost rise

well hopefully i will be able to check out your car in more detail during our club meeting at Bristol Dyno coming up this spring.
so your car was a silver over red glht? same as dave d's car, what a coincidence......if you two get a side-by-side race at the TD Race Day this June that will be fun to watch since you are both sick fast silver glht's.
ask your friend if he wants to sell his black over tan glht ok?

I almost bought that car but it had way to much rust. The floors, a pillar, and rear parts of the frame are all rotted out. When I got my car the floors were the only part with any rust.

mudpie was a silver/silver car. now it's charcoal mettalic on the outside and medium gray vinyl/dark grey suede on the inside!! sweet!!
back to the topic though, personally i'm not a fan of the tan, red, or silver interiors. i like the blue. tan is just that, tan. silver is too drab/dull in my opinion, and the red is on the guawdy side. the blue however... ohhhh the blue!!! not dull or boring, not overdone & gauwdy, and not tan!! i love my blue interior! so is blue really the next rarest color??

"....so is blue really the next rarest color??....."
i dont recall ever seeing published figures on interior color production, just exterior color breakdowns. so i was only guessing tan was the rarest on the GLH/GLHT only because in all these years i just havent seen that many. red seems to be the most produced, or, maybe silver bet its close, with the tan and blue being a lot harder to find. santa fe blue over blue is also a great combo, seen plenty of those.
are there published figures for interior color production on the glh...anyone?

good call, never thought of it that way. and wasn't SantaFe Blue the 2nd rarest color behind the gold?? so that would probably definetely make the interior blue the rarest.
was any other interior offered for the santa fe blue cars? silver perhaps? i guess that wouldn't look too bad.
edit: santafe was the 2nd rarest for '86, but not '85 i think. correct? (must have been leftover paint from 85!

you could get a blue car with the blue interior or a silver interior. I have seen more blue/blue cars up here.
I think the ean interior is probably the rarest out of all of them. Not many gold cars produced to begin with, and I havent seen a lot of red or black cars with a Tan interior.
