Okay, I noticed that there must have been two different dash pads available for a 92 daytona. My parents have a 92 Daytona, base model 2.5tbi auto, and my uncle had(before he crashed it) a 92 Daytona, base model but with the 3.0L/5sp. Now, attached is a pic of your typical daytona dash pad, and I circled the area I'm going to be talking about. On your regular dash pad, there's the two vents at the top of the center console stack, and directly between that and the passenger side door panel, the dash pad is just flat across and on the plain side. The pic is what I'm describing and it's how my parents 92 daytona is. Now my uncle's on the other hand was different in this area. Directly to the right of the two middle vents, the pad didn't curve down like it does in the one in the pic. The dash pad went straight across and it was almost like a shelf going straight across the dash pad. Hard to describe, but imagine a straight line going from the top of the black center console stack going directly flat across to the door panel. It was much mroe squared off than the one in the pic but yet the top of the "shelf" was recessed a bit. It wasn't like the older style dashes either though. Very hard to describe if you don't know what I'm talking about. Too bad I didnt' get any pics of it before he wrecked the car, but that was several years ago, but we both remember that, and only that part of the dash pad as being different than my parents 92 daytona. His car was 100% stock and this dash pad was definately original. Anyone ever see a daytona with the dash pad I'm talking about?? Any pics by chance??

Thats interesting,I have seen hundreds of 90+ Daytona dashes and never seen anything that looks like what you are talking about. If someone out there has one of these I would be curious to see one also......

Yeah I know I've seen a fair number of the 90+ dashes and never another one like his was. Damn I wish I would have gotten pics before the car was written off!!

Same here. It definitely sounds like a late 80s dash though, because of the shelf-like appearance you are describing?

yeah I've got an 87 daytona and it's not like mine at all. Sort of similar in theory, but most definately not. Still had the rounded gauge cluster and the rest of the interior was exactly like any other 1990+ daytona, just that part of the dash pad above the glove box was very different.

In this attached pic, see the part I have boxed in green. Imagine that part indented downward into like a little shelf. Was definately stock, the little shelf like area was properly rounded and had the right texture.

what year did the passenger side air bag start or become an option. My 94 lebaron has a passenger side air bag and the dash is shaped differant in that area. The car isn't home right now to go look at it but I know it is differant in that spot because of the airbag.

Sounds to me like either one of two things: either it had a different dash pad due to it being a Canadian car with no passenger air bag(that didn't start until '94 in LeBarons...but if he got a replacement dahs pad under warranty...), or you're remebering something wrong. I've also seen MANY Daytona's and 'Barons....not once have I ever seen anything like that....

Fairly certain we're not remembering it wrong, when my parents bought their 92, the different dash pad was the first thing we both noticed. But the 92 my uncle had with the funky dash pad was bought used by him in probably 1996 or 97, so I guess already enough time for it to have been in a wreck or who knows maybe it was just some weird incorrect stuff installed before he got his hands on it??
