So Im quiting my short lift job doing portible carpet cleaning (using some huge thing I have to carry around) and I decided to clean the carpets/seats/doorpanels of my daily driver.

EWE.

13 years of...people....is disgusting.
I thought was basically clean until i dumped out about 15 gallons of coffee colored water

BTW that kind of dirt in your interior leads to things wearing out prematurely because the dirt tears up the fibers etc when you "traffic" it like its sandpaper.

I was in a customer's house once and the "lady" was pointing out about 40 poodle piddles to the carpet cleaner. Have you ever seen the effect of dog piddle on brass pedals on a piano?

I recently had a '97 intrepid to fix up and sell. Car is long gone now but I had it in the garage for an engine rebuild, and while it was in there, I just left the windows down. The interior of that car stunk up the entire garage. Eeeew.

I pull basically the entire interior out of cars, lay the carpet on the driveway and give 'er hell with the pressure washer, a bunch of liquid Tide, and a scrub brush. Some interiors I've done turned out amazing.

I hang the carpets over the fence and spray them down with the hose till they stop pissing brown water. Yes it's amazing what comes out.

I'm tempted to pull the carpets & let tehm dry out. I cleaned them but the water is soaked into the padding so it won't stay dry. Just keeps going from the padding to the carpet.

How hard is that? Is it fairly easy to re-install the carpets? Do the fasteners tend to break or fail on re-installation?

just take out the seats.. very easy to do, just look around and you will find all of the nuts and bolts you need to take out.. then take off your center console carpeting and the carpet will just peel out from there.. and will go back in just as east.. no fasteners on the carpets.. just reverse your order on the way back out.
