Has anyone successfully "un-faded" the guage cluster needles? The speedometer needle is the one that never goes bad, but the others aren't really even orange anyore. They are more like a yellowish-whitish color righ now.

Good question you posed as so many of the late model gauges have this type of problem especially out here in Arizona due to sun baking. I should have some used ones that are good however if you can't fix them. Here's what I do to prevent that: Whenever the car sits I put a black cloth over the gauge cluster or in a short time you've got white needles on your gauges.

... or just cover the entire car.

I don't have quite the problem the southerners do, and mine are still orange but it just doesn't have the density of the speedometer needle.

I had dreams of trying to tint them with some opthamalic lens tint stuff at work, but, I'm not even very confident that the needle will actually absorb any of the tint.

Can you get the cluster apart to work on the needles? How do you take the cluster out of the dash? THANKS RONNIE

Yes, the clusters come apart very easily. I just fixed the odometer on my '91 Daytona. Its the first time I actually took it apart that far, and let me tell ya that odometer fraud with these things is SUPER EASY. The needles pull off very easily, with the exception of the speedometer needle. I've broke a few of these over the years. But with the correct prying tool, it shouldn't be difficult at all.

The instrument cluster shroud has to come off first--there is a vent-looking thing on the top of the dash that easily prys out with a screw driver. Then there are two screws there that need to be removed with a stubby screw driver. Two screws hold it on the bottom of the cluster, and at that point, if you cannot figure out the rest, don't bother trying, to be perfectly honest.
