i finally got all the running gear from my 89 daytona shelby to my 88 shelby z. well i totally gutted the interior exept the cloth manual 89 seats, no carpet, rear seats, rear trim. it looks kinda cool and isnt as annoyingly noisey as i thought it would be. so i was just thinking just putting in the carpet, center console, and bottom part of dash later. what do you guys think? should i keep it stripped? or put the carpet, console, etc back in? its my daily driver and i want to autocross too.

Depending on the class you want to run in AutoX you may have to have the rear seat installed...

It's REALLY easy...take out the two large bolts that hold the seat belt clips on near the center of the seat just under the inner pivot of both backrests(horrible description I know, but that's the only way I can do it without a picture), then fold down the back rests. Finally yank the base cushion FORWARD...NOT up!! You have to get the clips out from under their holders. Once that is done...remove the whole thing!

should i keep my carpet? i think i might put it in just for the hell of it. that stupida$$ light module melted goop all behind the dash down to the carpet and i cant get it out . but i have an 89 daytona carpet i think i can use instead.

is there a home remedy type solution that will magically dissolve the goop? took me forever to get it off my hands
