Not really, every state with emission tests fails you for cutouts, regardless how they are operated (electrical or bolts outside). Some shops may let it fly, but that doesn't mean its legal.

How would it go rich?
If your exhaust system flows abnormally more than stock, the stock computer systems can lose o2 accuracy. They work best with a somewhat close to stock backpressure.

O2 sensor feedback can be affected by heat, but not pressure. Because of this I don't understand your logic. The ONLY reason I could see it going rich from a larger or more free flowing exhaust is if it overcompensated for a sensed lean condition caused by the engine actually being able to breath!

The owner's manual states that damage may occure to prevent people from voiding warranties or blowing engines(or otherwise making the car *illegal* for on-road use) due to overboost conditions that may be caused by a free flowing exhaust not letting the WG control the boost after a certain point...NOT becuase it reduces computer accuracy. LOL

Agreed.

I'm not completely up to date on my emissions laws since I don't have them. For me it would allow me to run it really loud when I wanted, and turn down the fun when the cops roll by, lol.
