Check it out, I've seen TWO pictures in my life of this dash, and now I finally have one hooked up to my 1990 Daytona. To me, this is the badest looking thing I've seen. Will nicely compliment my whole digital theme for my car. Hope you guys enjoy!

I have no idea how to post this video, try copying and pasting the url and deleting the spaces.
My battery in that car is dead and I'm running off a jumpstarter, so that's why it dims out when I crank the engine. Let me know what you all think. Thanks
I like that A LOT!!!!!! Never saw one of those before either. Was there anything additional you had to add wiring wise to the Daytona since prior to this it was a needle style gauge clusteR?

Check the link again. It doesn't work for me. When I post the URL, it deletes the question mark and the equal sign. I don't understand why it converts it like that. And I'm glad you guys enjoyed the video!
And in terms of the wiring. I had to add two additional lines, the purple and white w/ black tracer BUS lines. HOWEVER, I had probably something like 10 wires left over unused from the previous dash. The analog dashes have a separate wire for each needle and each light. But the digital dash just has the ignition source, ground, illumination, constant power (battery), and the BUS lines pretty much tell the dash the entire rest of the information. There are a few other wires for just the turn signals, air bag warning, low oil pressure warning, and brake warning. It was very simple to wire in and most of the wires matched up colorwise.
I'm fairly certain that in order for it to work propperly you need the BCM. Any person that I've known to succeed in this swap has had to do that. I didn't see this listed, so....

What do you mean by "the" BCM, are you refering to the BCM that was in the car with the digital dash originally or do you mean that the car needs to have a BCM in general. My 1990 Daytona has a BCM as do all 90+ Daytonas and I wired it in with the BCM and it seems to work just fine. The fuel gauge and temp gauge seem to be off though...
AFAIK the matching BCM that came out of the car that had the digital cluster has to be used with the digital cluster. There were only 2 BCM's for 1990..one for cars with the digital cluster, and ones with the anologue cluster. Anybody I've ever heard of do to this swap sucessfully has used a cluster that came out of the digital car. You also have to be careful of the years as 1990 and 1991 are different than '92(I think hte year split is in 1991, but I'm not 100% on that). There is a LOT of information about this exact swap on here. I tried to contribute some information to those threads, so you *may* be able to use the search function with my handle and find it. I know there's a lot to search for in this place, but I also know for fact the info is here! LOL
Anyways, if you get it working 100% without the BCM, good for you! I hope you do a write up on it! I have 2 more 1990 digital clusters sitting in my parts room IIRC. I'm probably NEVER going to use them, so I need to sell them at some point and only one has a matching BCM. So if the swap can be done without the BCM...that's GREAT!
Haha, yes, I am aware of the electronics differences from 1990-1991 and 1992-1995. I wasn't aware of that before I bought the dash though. No biggy, I just bought a 1990 Daytona to make it work, lol. And about the BCM, the dash seems to be working fine, but again, the fuel gauge and temp gauge are a little iffy. There is a 1/4 and a 1/8 indicator on the fuel gauge that when lit, make it appear as if when all the bars on the fuel gauge are lit, its at 1/4th. Its really hard to put that into words. I don't know how the fuel gauge works, I'll see if it ever goes down when I drive the car. The car has its electrical problems, but hopefully I can redo most of it or at least inspect it all and test it.
My digital traveler displays how many miles are left in the tank, and it basically gets that number by multiplying the average mpg times the gallons in the tank. So my non-premium BCM knows how much fuel is left and I don't see why the digital dash wouldn't be able to read that off. Again, we can't really jump to any conclusions until the host car itself is in known good electrical condition. However, if anyone knows for a FACT that the BCM matters, or knows exactly what it matters for, I'd really love to know. I give the search button another try in the morning, but that thing isn't really that effective
id like 2 hear more info, I always thought u needed the BCM for the digi dash 2 work! if not, then that is great! my friend has a 92 tona, and picked up digi dash..has no BCM tho
if he can still make it work, then im sure he may decided to wire it in one day! but I was always under the impression it wouldd only work with the proper BCM
Now, I don't know it there has been just miscommunication. In a sense, YES, you DO need the proper BCM for the digital dash. Now, when someone said that, did they mean that you need the EXACT BCM that was in the car with the digital dash? I think they just meant that you need the proper BCM for the year of the dash. If you have a dash from 1993, you need to have a BCM from 1992+. Or if your dash is a 1991, you need a 1990 or 1991 BCM. If your friend was like I was, and bought a digital dash for his 1992 Daytona and didn't know what year car it came from, you might not get it to work.
