Hi All,
Today I drove 45-50 miles to buy a CD/cassette radio for my Shelby. I saw it at a yard behind the counter last week while I was in the area. It had the same mounting tabs as our radios and yet it was dated June 2004. I guess I didn't realize they still had that tab setup so recently. Well, I paid $75+ tax for it. I figured it was worth it and you don't see them in yards too often. Since I was about 10 miles from another yard in the middle of nowhere, I decided to see what they had. This place has great prices. I got a really nice top for my GTC a couple year ago for $40.00. Rear side windows also for $10 each and that was the works. I had 20 minutes to look around. It looks like there weren't any new cars since I was there last. Like a year ago. I saw a late model minivan. I looked inside and saw the same radio I had just bought. I popped it out in less than 5 minutes. Went to pay for it and the guy says "$20.00" I sure wish I had gone there first.
I got lucky too. I don't know what happened to the old radio in the car, but it didn't work yesterday. That wasn't the reason why I bought a new one. I looked at the fuses and all were good. This car is weird. There's a lot of electrical gremlins in it. The radio wasn't the stock GLHS radio, but a Mopar AM/FM NO cassette unit. I got home and before even going in the house, I popped the new radio in. It actually turned on. I guess the old radio itself went bad or the plugs just worked them selves loose. One less thing I'll have to fix I guess.

Was that U-Pull-R-Parts in Rosemount or East Bethel? If not, where was it? I go to the boneyards in the cities because there's nothing around here. I'd love to be able to add another one to my rounds.

This was actually way north of there. The one I got the CD/cassette out of was this place in "Grasston, MN" It's about 30-35 miles north of the U-Pull in East Bethel. I'd have never found this place by myself. A friend with a Cuda at a car show happened to tell me about it 2 years ago, because they had a Shelby Charger there.
The Charger is still there. The grass is getting high around it. Probably not a lot of good parts left on it.
