How to-12 Button Navigator Rebuild

Dimmer, fuel and speed are not required to power up and test the unit.

I use two 6V flashlight batteries in series to make 12V, enough juice to power the unit but not enough to blow it up if you slip a wire like with a lead acid car battery...

That dish remote button trick is quite clever! I prefer the mouser switch method because of the raw clickiness of the replacement buttons. Aren't the dish buttons sort of soft pressing?

Ok what part number do I use? There's 2 listed for mouser but which one?

You can get all the correct OEM buttons you need from Johnny at The Car Farm in Bluefield WV. He runs a turbo dodge and 60s/70s Mopar muscle salvage yard. He has a couple hundred turbo Dodges in the yard and several hard to find/never seen ones as well. 304-327-9160. I mean new, not used BTW....

Just a quick note on this thread, but many years ago I bought a special solution from an electronic shop that brushed on the rubber contacts and fixed the connections. Navagater still works today. Unfortunately it's been so long ago that I don't remember much about the solution, but try calling up a professional electronics shop (not a source or bestbuy) but one that sells transistors and switches and stuff, they could probably help you find the stuff if you tell them what your trying to do

i have the 12 button trip computer. a few years back i replaced the buttons. this year it did not power up. i open and have a transistor blown. i can not read the numbers. anyone have schematic for it. its in my 1989 lebaron. it is in location u160 on back board the last numbers i can read are 8629

anyone who can help thank you!!
