If you have a power seat option for the driver side, take it out, those suckers must weigh about 65 lbs compaired to the passenger side that must weigh about 30 lbs.

I would imagine the hatchback is a heavy SOB too, in the daytona's.
I ran across someone selling a fibreglass one for a drag car in a Google search but it was a old post, havent seen anyone post about a fiberglass hatchback, unless i missed it,that would be a perfect aftermarket product for the daytona's.

I've wondered if the doors can't be lightened much by cutting out some of the interior metal,I've got two doors I want to put on my shelby from a 87 pacifica and I am planning on taking the shelby doors and cutting them up to see how much weight I can shave off of them since these doors are pretty much wavy and due for the boneyard, those doors are like the Challenger doors, heavy buggers they are.

Depends on how serious you want to get.

I "skinned" my hatch. Down to just the outer metal skin. Much, much lighter. That plus a plastic rear window.

Doors - lots and lots of excess metal there. Mine were power, now just skins with the latches to keep them shut and plastic windows that don't roll down.

Take a sawzall or hole saw to everything that doesn't look important. Start at the back.

Bumpers - they are hidden under the plastic anyway. Out they go.

Heater core? Air conditioning? Windsheild wipers? Rear brakes? Factory fuel tank? Racing bucket? Non-tilt steering column? Exhaust? That fiberglass wing on the back is suprisingly heavy.

Getting serious now: How about all those dodge bolts that seem to be 3 times as long as needed? Don't need all that length, start cutting.

Basically, how light you depends on how functoinal you want all those options and how "ugly" you are willing to go.
