Ok, I have given up trying to find a vnt daytona and will prob buy an 88-89 shelby daytona instead. My problem is that I really like the newer interior of the 90daytona and was wondering if the dash and center console would interchange. I know that the doors panels wont' but I think I can work on that.... Any info would be helpful!!
THANKS
Bryan

Actually another member (Artur_p) has the inner door panels, however I am pretty sure the dash won't fit due to windshield and bolting constraints. . .

crap, ,that was not what I was hoping to hear. So your saying that the all the mounting points on the 90+ dash are different than the 88-89, just like the door panels.... I was really hoping that they would be *bolt-in* like everything else on the car.If he has modded the doors to accept the newer panels, doesn't it look kinda funny with the the older dash? Anyone actually try the swap or compare them?

Actually, I think the dash will bolt right in without a hitch! I thought the door panels were the real promlems.

Have you done the swap yourself or heard of someone doing it? There are tons of 90+ daytonas in the bone yard so I'm still interested in the swap.
thanks

I too would like to know if it's a simple swap, the dash/center console that is. It's the only thing that I'd change about my 2nd gen. If one day I had some money and a whole lot of extra time. I'd think that door panels would be a lot easier to modify to fit than a dash.

as far as I know, you'll have more problems with the doors than the dash.

lol - I think its more because the door handle and armrest mounting positions changed on the new doors. I was thinking about doing such a thing with my Daytona - but getting 90+ doors.

hmm either way I'd be way more willing to work with door panels instead of the dash or center console. This is one swap I'd be really psyched for though.

Thing is, you can get a car that looks just like an 89 with a 90 interior. I wouldnt know if it was a swap or not. Thats why I think a first gen would be the best application and use of time. Then everyone would know. Ill bet even regular people would notice such a modern interior in a squared off design.

ah last thing I'd care about is ppl noticing. I just really like the new interior over the old stuff. The way you can see the steering column makes it look old. the 90+ is so much more modern. Hmm me thinks this may be next winter's project, when I'll have a winter car to drive

i have torn down my 90 shelby parts car and let me tell you guys you would have to atleast change all the interior wiring over possibly the tranny as well cuz the shifter and pattern are differnent as well as changing over the ebrake and then you would be better off and alot easier to swap out the doors ...
if any needs parts of my 90 shelby parts car let me know
to me i think this kind of swap would be too much work i thought about swapping it into my 85 turboz but it is way too much ..
